Role Summary
As an SNE Teacher, you’ll design and deliver individualized learning experiences that empower students with diverse needs. You’ll work closely with families, therapists, and fellow educators to create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment where every learner can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each learner
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to suit various disabilities and developmental stages
- Conduct regular assessments and track academic, behavioural, and social progress
- Provide emotional and behavioural support through structured interventions
- Collaborate with therapists, counsellors, and other educators
- Engage families through regular communication and home-based learning support
- Facilitate transition planning for students moving between educational levels
- Advocate for inclusive practices and student rights within the school community
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs
- Develop and maintain up-to-date Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for every learner
- Drive consistent academic growth through regular assessments and data-informed instruction
- Implement effective behavioural strategies to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Â Build strong, trust-based relationships with families to ensure high levels of engagement and satisfaction
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic student development
- Complete all required professional development and training within the academic year
- Champion inclusive practices that encourage participation of learners with special needs in mainstream activities
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in Special Needs Education or related field
- TSC certification (or equivalent) for teaching in Kenya
- Experience working with learners across multiple age groups
- Strong communication, empathy, and classroom management skills
- Knowledge of inclusive education frameworks and disability rights
