Position Overview

The School Head Cook is responsible for the planning, preparation, and delivery of nutritious meals in accordance with the school’s menu and budgetary guidelines. This role ensures that food service operations meet health and safety standards while fostering a positive and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare daily meals aligned with the school’s menu and nutritional standards
  • Maintain cost-effective operations by managing supplies and adhering to budget constraints
  • Oversee kitchen inventory, ensuring timely procurement and minimal waste
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Supervise catering staff, including scheduling, task allocation, and performance oversight
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with food suppliers and vendors
  • Collaborate with the operations manager to align catering services with school needs
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-year experience in a school catering environment
  • Valid Food Handler’s Certificate
