Role Summary

The ECDE Teacher plays a vital role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning by nurturing the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development of young learners. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports early childhood growth and prepares children for formal education.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons aligned with national ECDE curriculum
  • Foster a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment
  • Monitor and assess individual student progress and development
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interaction among learners
  • Engage parents and guardians in their child’s learning journey
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and progress reports
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership on curriculum planning and school activities
  • Ensure child safety and uphold safeguarding policies at all times

  • Creativity in lesson planning and resource use

  • Observant and responsive to individual learner needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree, Diploma or Certificate in ECDE from a recognized institution
  • Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC)
  • First Aid training or child safety certification is an added advantage
  • Experience working with children aged 3–8 years
