Position Summary
The Day Care Personnel is responsible for providing attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care to young children in a safe and engaging environment. This role supports the emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of children while ensuring their well-being throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for children aged 3 months –5 years.
- Create a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment that promotes learning through play
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and routines
- Monitor children’s behaviour, health, and emotional development, reporting concerns to supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in play areas, restrooms, and eating spaces
- Support children with feeding, toileting, and nap routines
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including emergency procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding daily activities and child progress
- Collaborate with other staff to maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children in a day care or school setting
- Basic skills in First Aid (preferred)
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate care practices
